How do you get verizon to upgrade your phone for free with having a few defective phones of the same model?

I have had three defective phones in a three month period and verizon let me upgrade to a new phone one model newer twice. However, this was a few years ago. Does anyone know or have gotten a free upgrade to a newer model recently?

    Take the back off and look at the phone (Either behind the battery, or somewhere in the back) And look for a little white thing called I think a trip circle. If it has little red crosses on it then they will not replace it because then it is considered to be water damaged.

    HOWEVER.

    If not, then go to your local verizon store and they should be able to replace it.

    All you have to do is walk into the store ***** and they will upgrade you to anything you like.
